Is Ignorance bliss or Knowledge Enlightening

The following post is simply a myriad of questions, that are coming to my mind. Everybody tends to become inquisitive of their circumstances and begin to seek answers for difficult questions. At every difficult situation(well, I must say, not at all difficult, when compared to problems others are facing), I tell myself, this will pass. It is surprising that, how, random words affect our state of mind. A strange calm envelops me and gives me courage to face the situation.
But, Is ignorance bliss? Or does knowledge provide Enlightenment. Does gaining knowledge, make one enlightened? For example, If I come to know, of a certain hack, that makes a tedious task, easier, I want to share it, with all near and dear ones, to make their life easier too. But is this, enlightenment or, is enlightenment, a state of remaining silent and balanced in mind. Is enlightenment, maintaining stability in times of distress and joyful situations?
Coming to mind, there are many more questions popping up. Mind has greater capabilities, but we tend to bind it, to avoid, negative thought avalanche. Everybody knows that, a positive thought, can bring about greater change, only when the person thinking, strongly believes in this thought. Sadly, people concentrate on negative thoughts, more than, positive ones. Is this the cause of, suffering? May be, or may be not.

How many times, have you observed your thought, becoming a reality? I have observed that, thoughts or prayers for others, materialize faster, than thoughts of self. Have you also observed this? Does this puzzle you, or enlighten you? While I am still, surprised, how our mind, makes things happen for us.

  1. sometimes ignorance is indeed bliss because you then donot have to worry yourselves about anything. but for a vedantin ,ignorance is the cause of all our suffering . Because i am ignorant of my true nature, i go through life as though i am a finite and mortal being. So only knowledge of Self can give you real bliss . Secondly , i agree with you when you say that when you pray for others, your thoughts materialise faster than if you had been praying for yourself. because when you are selfless ,your prayer makes things manifest
