Van's The air craft Manufacturer

The founder of the Van's aircraft is Richard Van VanGrunsven. This aircraft company was established in 1973. As the name of the company suggests, it deals with the manufacturing of the aircrafts. It specializes in kit aircraft manufacturing of mono planes. Monoplanes have a single main set of wings rather than multiple ones. The plane consturction uses monocoque technique where in the weight of the plane or structure is supported by the exterior of the plane which is covered with a body to hide the supporting system employed. These homebuilt aircrafts gained popularity in a short span of time. These aircrafts are most sought after by the aviation depratments of various other countries like New Zealand, Australia, Canada, etc.
This company started with developing a single seat aircraft named RV-1 to a more modified single seater RV-3. RV-5 was again a single seat metal prototype air craft. The company experimented with double seating aircraft with seats one behind the other and developed the RV-4 with a special feature, enabling the 360 degree vision for the pilots. Improvising it to make side by side seating arrangement the aircrafts RV-6 to RV-9 were developed, each a better model than the previous one.

RV-10 is the only four seater version developed for customer on demand. The RV-11 is again a single seater craft in the developmental stages. This is being developed as a motor glider which can be used for the purpose of touring a landscape. The latest comleted project of Van's Aircraft, is the RV-12 craft which is again a two seater, with side by side seating arrangements. It is designed as per the specifications of the Light sport Aircraft, which is a classification specified by the United States.
